Objective The study is conducted on the basis of elderly ’s chronic disease prevalence,two-week prevalence and hospital admission rate in rural areas of Anhui province in China.The factors that influence healthcare services accessibility in the countryside of Anhui province are explored under the consideration of the following aspects: whether the patients with chronic diseases were treated or not and its causes,whether the patients visited physicians within two-weeks or chose which medical institutions and their reasons,and whether the patients were hospitalized in a year and why some not.Some suggestions are proposed in order to optimize the allocation of healthcare resources,and to provide the basis for promoting the medical and the level of health of the elderly in rural areas in Anhui province.Method Multistage random sampling method was used in this study.Three regions were divided by geographical boundaries of Anhui Province,that is southern region,middle region and northern region.One representative counties was chosen randomly from three regions,two villages were randomly chosen from counties,six villages were randomly chosen from counties as the final sample points.1500 questionnaires were issued via household surveys when the research ended,1474 questionnaires were effective,the effective rate is 98.3%.Database was created by means of Epidata software(version 3.1),data input and processing also used this software.Statistic analysis was done by using software of SPSS(version 18.0).Result(1)Whether the medical insurance(p = 0.008)and the marital status(p = 0.050)were statistically significant for the treatment or treatment of chronic elderlypatients in rural areas were found in the multivariate analysis of whether or not the elderly patients with chronic diseases were medication or treatment.(2)Endownment insurance(P = 0.006)and resident population(p = 0.032)were statistically significant for the incidence of injury within two weeks in a multivariate analysis of whether or not the injury was affected within two weeks.(3)The statistic significance is also found that age influence the elderly patients were hospitalization in a year(p<0.001).Conclusion(1)The distribution of primary-level medical and health care institutions in rural in Anhui province is reasonable,the accessibility of basic medical and health services is fine,but there is still room for further improvement.(2)Age,marital status,health care insurance and the distance from home to nearest hospital are the factors that influence whether the elderly people with chronic diseases sought treatment or not.(3)The living conditions of permanent residents,career,education and endowment insurance affect if the patients visited physician within two-weeks.(4)Age is a major factor that influence the elderly patients were hospitalization in a year.
