Objective:To compare the postoperative complications and long-term survival outcomes between laparoscopic radical hysterectomy(LRH)and open radical hysterectomy(ORH).Methods:Patients with stage IA2 to IIA cervical cancer who underwent ORH and LRH treated in Xinjiang Provincial Tumor Hospital from January 2008 to December 2012 were reviewed. Results:On blood loss, lymph node cleaning, exhaust time and length of hospital stay, incidence of postoperative complications of the 2 groups were statistically different(P< 0.05).But there were no significant differences in intraoperative and postoperative complications rate between the LRH group and ORH group(P>0.05).The 1,3,and 5-year DFS rate of ORH and LRH group were 95.08%、87.23%、72.55%and98.80%、89.53%、77.30%respectively,there were no significant difference between the 2 groups. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the DFS rate(P=0.056),but the DFS rate rate in the LRH group was higher than that in the ORH group when the tumor size≥ 4 cm(P=0.014).Conclusion:LRH is an oncologically safe alternative to ORH and was associated with fewer postoperative complication and earlier recovery。Tumor size with LRH may improve the DFS.
