Expression And Clinical Significance Of PDL1 In Head And Neck Tumors

Bacgroud: Head and neck cancer is one of the most common cancer in the world,543,941 new cases each year,228,729 deaths,types include the lips,mouth,throat and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.In the United States,oral cavity and pharynx malignant tumors accounted for all of 2.4%,about 49,000 new cases and 95,000 deaths each year.Standard treatment for head and neck cancer in 15 years has made considerable progress,but,because of the complex Anatomy and head and neck cancers can lead to different degrees of structural malformations and functional disorders,affect patient comfort,social function and quality of life(QOL).In addition,the surgical treatment of head and neck cancer further mutilation,damaging the patient’s appearance,so that the deterioration in the quality of life.Over the years,the medical care is gradually to improve the well-being and health of the patients quality of life(HRQOL),in particular in the medical oncology field.PD-1 and PD L1-targeted drug appears,will provide new treatment options for patients with head and neck cancer,is likely to significantly increase the survival time of patients with head and neck cancer.And now for the PD-1 and PD L1 in the area of head and neck cancer research cells and animal experiments,aimed at clinical specimen as the object of the study,exploring the relationship between PD L1 and head and neck cancer.Objective:Detection of head and neck tumor expression of PD-1,PD L1 and study on its expression in benign and malignant tumors,with different pathologic grade and clinical stage of relations,comparing differences and relevance,in order to provide theoretical and experimental basis for immunotherapy of malignant tumor in head and neck.Methods: From January 2015 to June 2016 were surgical specimens of 40 cases of head and neck malignant tumors and 20 cases of head and neck cyst tissue by embedding made into paraffin blocks,and then made into tissue microarray,detectionof PD L1 protein expression by immunohistochemistry SP two step method,test relationship between PDL1 expression level and clinical pathological parameters.Results: The expression of PD L1 in head and neck cyst tissues in malignant tumor tissues,the positive rate was 65%(26/40).PD L1 expression and expression level with age,gender,disease Independent grading(P > 0.05),and were closely related to clinical stage(P<0.05).Conclusions: The expression of PD L1 was significantly increased in head and neck malignant tumors,which could provide an idea for the immunotherapy of head and neck malignant tumors.
