| Objective: long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)have been shown to have functional roles in cancer biology and are dys-regμlated in many tumors.SNHG11 is a lncRNA,previously shown to be significantly down-regμlated in HBV-related hepatocellμlar carcinoma.In the early stage,our study group using gene chip technology screened SNHG11 was significantly down-regμlated in the early gastric cancer.The aim of this study is to determine expression levels of SNHG11 in gastric carcinoma,and to analyze the correlation between the expression level of SNHG11 and clinical characteristics,and to explore its clinical significance.To explore its possibility as diagnosis biomarker and therapeutic target in gastric carcinoma.Methods: Tissue samples were obtained from patients undergoing resection for gastric carcinoma(n=42).For each patient,tumor tissue and adjacent normal tissue were taken.RNA was extracted from all tissue samples by Trizol method.The expression level of SNHG11 was detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR(Real-time PCR).Then,we analyzed the correlation between the expression level of SNHG11 and the clinical characteristics of 42 patients with gastric carcinoma.Last,we explored its clinical significance.Resμlts:(1)The expression level of SNHG11 was significantly down-regμlated in gastric carcinoma tissue(P<0.001).(2)The expression level of SNHG11 was correlated with the differentiation degree of gastric cancer tissue(P<0.05),but there was no significant correlation between the expression level of SNHG11 and the age,sex,tumor size,differentiation degree,lymph node metastasis and tumor TNM stage(P>0.05).(3)The expression level of SNHG11 in the judgement of high scholl differentiation degree,the area under ROC curve was 0.756 and 95% CI(0.609-0.903),P<0.05,the best cut-off was 0.4349,the sensitivity was 77.3%,the specificity was 70.0%.(4)The expression level of SNHG11 in the diagnosis of gastric cancer,the area under the ROC curve was 0.740,95% CI was(0.630-0.850),P<0.001,the best cut-off was 6.67,the sensitivity was 54.8%,the specificity was 92.9%.Conclusion: long non-coding RNA SNHG11 was significantly down-regμlated in gastric cancer tissue,and may be involved in the occurrence and development of gastric cancer.The expression level of long non-coding RNA SNHG11 has a certain value in the diagnosis of gastric cancer and in the judgement of the differentiation degree. |
