Objective: To investigate the ability of brain metabolic reserve of healthy Tibetan population in the middle and high altitude area under the condition of chronic hypoxia,we can use the PRESS technology;Using the same technology,we can study on the effect of age on the capacity of cerebral metabolic reserve. Methods: In 16 cases and 19 cases there were collected at moderate and high altitude of volunteers; The healthy Tibetan volunteers according to age at moderate altitude and high altitude area are divided into three groups,namely(21-30year;31-40year;41-50year),collected 10 cases in each group; All volunteers were women; All the subjects were informed to all volunteers before scanning;Perform routine MRI scans for all examiners.I have used the PRESS technique, and use SVS-SE-30 for signal acquisition; The region of interest is located in the posterior cingulate; We select NAA,MI,Cho,Cr metabolite peaks as the research index; The data were generated of the metabolite profiles by spectrum analysis software.Results:1.The NAA/Cr relative concentration difference of middle, high altitude group of healthy Tibetan population was statistically significant(t=-7.389,P=0.000);The MI/Cr relative concentration difference of middle, high altitude group was statistically significant(t=-4.561,P=0.000);The Cho/Cr relative concentration difference of middle, high altitude group was not statistically significant(t=-1.116,P=0.272);Lac/Cr in two groups of spectral lines were not shown.2.At moderate altitude,NAA/Cr,Cho/Cr,and MI/Cr relative concentration difference of three groups were not statistically significant(F=1.673,P=0.207;F=0.649,P=0.531;F=0.857,P=0.436).3.At high altitude region,NAA/Cr,MI/Cr,Cho/Cr relative concentration difference of three groups were not statistically significant(F=2.600,P=0.093;F=0.987,P=0.386;F=0.546,P=0.585).Conclusion: According to this study, from the metabolic point of view,it is indirectly speculated that in the middle and high altitude range, with the aggravation of hypoxia, the ability of brain metabolic reserve will be stimulated; The results showed that the results of the three groups were negative, indicating that there was no significant change in the concentration of metabolites in brain cells at 20-50 years old,it was speculated that the change of cerebral metabolic reserve capacity was not obvious in 20-50 years old;The study is not representative, this view needs further study.
