Objective: To investigate the clinical manifestations, imaging manifestations, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of malignant solitary fibrous tumor(MSFT)of the kidney.Method: The clinical manifestations, imaging manifestations, and histopathological and immunohistochemical staining results after laparoscopic surgery of one patient with SFT of the kidney was reviewed retrospectively.Referring to literatures,we analysed the tissue of origin, pathological features, differential diagnosis and follow-up of malignant SFT of the kidney.Result: There was a 29-year-old male with malignant SFT of the kidney, who received retroperitoneal laparoscopic radical nephrectomy in this study.Preoperative examination indicated right renal clear cell carcinoma.Postoperative pathological analysis revealed low grade malignant SFT of right kidney, and immunohistochemistry indicated CD34(+),BCL-2(+),CD68(+),CD99(+),vimentin(+),Ki 67 5%(+),SMA weakly positive. No recurrence or metastasis occurred after 4-month follow-up period. Conclusion: Malignant SFT of the kidney is rare, its diagnosis and differential diagnosis depend on postoperative pathological and immunohistochemical examination.Radical nephrectomy is the main option for malignant SFT of the kidney with good prognosis.
