Objective:The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between shouder morbidtity in breast cancer and patientradiotherapy(RT)dose levels.Material and Methods:This study reviewd and follow-up 33 breast cancer patients who had received locol regional RT during the period 2013.Constant Murley shoulder scores was used to estimate the shoulder function after surgery in breast cancer patients.Individual RT dose level for the shouder joint were obtained from archived CT-based RT plans.individual mean, median and maximum shouder RT dose level were extracted by the DVHs.Besides,V2.5Gy to V45Gy step by 2.5Gy can attand from DVHs.The relationship between shouder RT dose level and these clinical endpoints was assessed by Spearman’s correlation. Results:The proportion ofshouderjoint’scores≥70 were 96.95%,their mean, min and max RT dose was(1479±84.5)cGy,(121±6.3)cGy,and(4658±65.9)cGy.Max RT dose level was associated with shouder morbiditity,p=0.04,and significant correlations(p<0.05)were found between DVHs and shouder jiont scores when shouder RT dose-volume were V35、V37.5、V40、V42.5 and V45,their P value were 0.021、0.011、0.022、0.023 and 0.023.Conclusions:There was correlation between the function of shouder joint and RT dose.To minimize this risk,we should reduce the shouder volume receving high RT dose. |
