ObjectiveThe purpose of this research went to explore the relationship between the time management disposition and the job satisfaction of head nurses.MethodsThis study used convenience sampling method selected 201 head nurses from 3 Amour Hospital in Wuhan from June 2016 to August 2016.They were investigated by using basic situation questionnaire,Time Management Disposition Scale and Job Satisfaction Scale.Statistical software SPSS22.0 utilized to analyze the data.Descriptive analysis,variance analysis,t test,Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression were used in the statistical methods.Results1、The 3 dimensions of the time management disposition of the head nurses were as follows:the sense of time value(4.08 ± 0.59)points,the time monitoring view(3.95 ±0.49)points,and the time efficacy(3.94 ±0.55)points.The total score was(3.97 ±0.48)points.2、The 8 dimensions of the job satisfaction of the head nurses were as follows:management(3.60 ±0.47)points,work load(3.23 ±0.46)points,relationship between colleagues(4.40 ±0.46)points,the work itself(2.67 ±0.53)points,wages and benefits(3.85 ±1.02)points,personal growth and development(3.75 ± 0.70)points,the work to be recognized(4.22 ± 0.67)points and family / work balance(3.73 ± 0.82)points.The total score was(3.61 ±0.37)points.3、Head nurses’ time management disposition scores of different ages,years of working,job title and children’s ages were statistically significant(P(27)0.05);head nurses’ job satisfaction scores of different ages,years of working,tenure,job title,highest education,times of out learning,marital status and children’s ages were statistically significant(P(27)0.05).4、Time management disposition and job satisfaction of head nurses were positive correlation(the correlation coefficient was 0.510,P(27)0.01).And job satisfaction was mostly close to the time efficacy(the correlation coefficient was 0.531,P(27)0.01).The sense of time value,the time monitoring view,the time efficacy and job satisfaction were positive correlation(P(27)0.05);time management disposition,the sense of time value,the time monitoring view and the time efficacy and other dimensions which didn’t conclude the work dimension were positive correlation(P(27)0.05);time monitoring view dimensions and the work itself dimensions were negative correlation(P(27)0.05);time management disposition and the sense of time value,the time efficacy and the work itself had no significant correlation(P(29)0.05).5、Multiple regression analysis showed that the sense of time value and the time efficacy had a positive effect on job satisfaction.ConclusionsIn this study,through the investigation and analysis of the time management disposition and job satisfaction,the following conclusions were drawn:1、The time management disposition of the head nurses reached a high level.In the three dimensions,the sense of time value was the highest,and the time efficacy was the lowest.2、The job satisfaction of the head nurses was in the medium level.In the eight dimensions,the relationship between colleagues dimension had highest points and the work itself dimension had lowest points.Other dimensions of satisfaction were in the middle level.3、Time management disposition and job satisfaction showed a positive correlation,the stronger the time management disposition,the higher the job satisfaction.High level of the sense of time value and the time efficiency can improve head nurses job satisfaction.Hospital leaders should strengthen the training of head nurses’ ability of time management,so as to increase the job satisfaction of the head nurses and ensure affairs department smoothly and orderly.
