| AimsIn this article,qualitative interview method,delphi method and other methods are used to explore a complete post competency model for Chinese Enterostomal Therapist(ET),which can provide quality standards for selecting,training and evaluating ET in China.Meanwhile,on the basis of model construction,the index weight of the ET’s competency model is calculated for the purpose of providing quantities standards in selecting,training and evaluating ET for the hospital and ET school.Methods1.The phenomenological research method in qualitative research was used to interview twelve of eight grade IIIA hospital in Shandong Province.The interview content was analyzed with Colaizzi method.Combining with the literature review and related document,we extracted the element of post competency for Enterostomal Therapist and founded the preliminary post competency model for Enterostomal Therapist.2.According to the content of the preliminary post competency model for Enterostomal Therapist,we made questionnaires.And two rounds of letters were made to 27 experts nationwide.On the ground of the suggestions of experts,final post competency model for Enterostomal Therapist was established.3.Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)was used to determine the indicators of weight.Results1.5 themes were established from the interview:comprehensive and exact knowledge,improve professional skill,professional attitude,good personal qualities,and study consciousness to develop capability of doing scientific research.Combining with the literature review and related document,we established the preliminary post competency model including 5 first level indicators,27 secondary level indicators and 69 third level indicators.2.The experts advices reached consensus after two rounds of letter consultation.The rates of replies of two rounds of expert consultation were 100.00%and 92.59%respectively.Finally a tertiary structure index system covering professional knowledge,professional skill,professional attitude,personal quality,research and teaching was formed.It includes 5 first level indicators,26 secondary level indicators and 67 third level indicators.3.AHP method was used to determine the first and secondary index weight of assessment index system.The most important index is professional attitude,and its weight is 0.337.The next is professional knowledge whose weight is 0.255.The weight of personal quality is 0.193.Finally,professional skill,research and teaching are also important and the weight is 0.135,0.080 respectively.Conclusions1.Literature review,qualitative interviews and letter of the Delphi consultation method were used.Finally a tertiary structure index system were established it includes 5 first level indicators,26 secondary level indicators,and 67 third level indicators.2.Except emphasizing the importance of professional knowledge and skill,it is necessary to pay much attention to professional attitude,personal quality and so on.That is to say,internal quality and external characteristics are both important.The post competence of the Enterostomal Therapist should be improved,which contributes to the development of the specialty.3.AHP was used to calculate the index weights,which can guide the content design of selection,training and evaluation of Chinese Enterostomal Therapists. |
