Objective To investigate the expression of Chemokine(C-X-C motif)ligand11(CXCL11)in human ovarian cancer tissues and its correlation with prognosis. Methods We used the tissue microarray and the immunohistochemistry method to investigate the CXCL11 expression in 122 ovarian cancer tissues and the benign ovarian tumor tissue.Wilcoxon test was used to compare the differences of CXCL11 expression level between ovarian cancer tissue and benign ovarian tumor tissues, the association of clinicopathological features and CXCL11 expression in ovarian cancer tissue was analyzed with Mann-Whitney U test.Using Kaplan-Meier analysis the relationship of overall survival, disease free survival and CXCL11 expression level,multi-factor Cox model was used to evaluate the role of different indicators in the prognostic evaluation. Results The immunohistochemical results showed that the expression of CXCL11 in ovarain cancer[135(0~380)] was significantly higher than in benign ovarian tumor tissue[30(0~170)](P=0.003).The expression of CXCL11 was correlated with Serous and tumor size(Z=2.795,P=0.005;Z=2.498,P=0.012).Kaplan-Merier survival analysis showed that patients with high CXCL11 expression the overall survival and DFS were significantly longer(P=0.0398,HR=0.4586,95%CI:0.2683~0.9627).Multi-factor Cox model analysis demonstrated that CXCL11 might be considered to be the prediction survival time in the ovarian cancer patients [PFS: hazard ratio(HR)=0.383,95% confidence interval(CI): 0.187-0.784,P=0.009;OS: HR=0.408,CI:0.182-0.918,P=0.03],which showed CXCL11 was an independent positive regulator for the prognosis of ovarian cancer. Conclusion CXCL11 in ovarian cancer tissue abnormal expression, and clinical pathological parameters were significantly related to the patient is an important independent prognostic molecule.
