Standardized residency training is an important part of the post-graduate education for medical students and plays a transitional role in the lifelong medical education. It is the focus of studies in recent years to figure out how to improve the quality and results of standardized residency training to raise the overall ability of our country’s clinical physicians, which will hopefully facilitate urban-rural equality in fundamental public services and truly solve the problem of medical care being unreachable and unaffordable for community-level individuals by providing them with safe, effective, convenient and inexpensive public health and medical care services.Nationwide standardized residency training in our country started only in 2014 and has been practiced for two years, during which time the work were advancing steadily with initial progresses and remarkable results from province to province, but in the mean time, problems were also exposed.By literature research, questionnaire survey and field interview and based on theories of human resources management, management by objective and incentive, this paper studied a training base by investigating and analyzing its implementation of the training, taking the nationwide evaluation into consideration. The analysis showed the following achievements of the current training program: improved organization, strengthened base construction, improved training quality and ensured supporting measures, but there were also problems: training methods needed to be unified, training standards needed revise, and further improvements were needed in the appraisal system, training quality and trainees satisfaction.Bases on the above analysis of problems and causes and borrowing insights from studies of home and abroad,we propose the following measures to improve the standardized residency training program in our country: implementing supporting policies and improving the training system, refining training standards and perfecting the appraisal system, strengthening process management and enhancing the training quality, and correcting public opinions and promoting positive energy. |
