ObjectiveThrough a systematic review and meta-analysis of the literature on the treatment of incontinence-associated dermatitis with external application of chinese herbal medicine,To draw a clear conclusion of the clinical efficacy of Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of incontinence-associated dermatitis.MethodsTo retrieve the literature on the treatment of incontinence-associated dermatitis with external application of Chinese herbal medicine prior to August 2017.The databases include CBM,CSCD,CNKI,CSPD,Embase,Pubmed,Elsevier and so on.The subjects were patients with incontinence-associated dermatitis consistent with diagnostic criteria. There were no age, race, sex, restrictions. The intervention measures of the experimental group included: Application a single external Chinese herbal medicine,Combined application of various external Chinese herbal medicine,Combined application of one or more external Chinese herbal medicine and other routine nursing measures. The intervention measures of the control group included:Routine nursing measures,Symptomatic nursing measures. The primary outcomes were the cure rate, effective rate, total effective rate, recurrence rate and the average cure time, one or more.To evaluate the methodological quality of literature by inclusion of the improved Jadad scale.Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan5.3.5 Software provided by Cochrane Collaboration.Results1.A total of 30 RCT literature was included in the study. There are 7articles with a Jadad score of 1(23.33%),There are 7 articles with a Jadad score of 2(33.33%),There are 7 articles with a Jadad score of 3(36.67%).There are 7 articles with a Jadad score of 4(6.67%),The results showed that most literatures were low quality documents.2.The results of Meta analysis showed that, compared to the routine nursing measures, the external application of Chinese herbal medicine was more effective in increasing the cure rate, effective rate, total effective rate, and reducing the recurrence rate and the average cure time(P<0.05).ConclusionJudging from the available evidence, external application of Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of incontinence-associated dermatitis has positive clinical efficacy. However, the quality of the current studies is generally low. There is still a need for high quality basic and clinical studies to provide more reliable evidence-based evidence for the efficacy of external application of Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of incontinence-associated dermatitis.
