Clinical Study On Yunshao Paan Decoction In Treating Non-motor Symptoms Of Parkinson’s Disease

Purpose:To observe the clinical efficacy on Yunshao Paan decoction in treating non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.For explore the theoretical basis of treating PDNMS by guiding with the "warm kidney Yang,nourishing the liver blood "therapy.Methods:A total of 68 patients of PD(out of 6 cases)were enrolled during the study period.The patients were divided into treatment group(n=32,treated by both western medicine and Yunshao Paan decoction)and control group(n=30,only treated by western medicine).The two groups were compared with clinical efficacy on non-motor symptom scale(NMSS),Parkinson’s disease questionnaire-39(PDQ-39),Unified Parkinson Disease Rating Scale Ⅲ(UPDRS Ⅲ),Levodopa equivalents doses(LDE)and Hoehn-Yahr(H-Y)grading scale after treating 2 months.Results:① Compared with two groups of NMSS scores after the treatment,the total clinical effective rate of NMSS was 62.50%in treatment group and 13.33%in control group.The effective rate of NMSS in treating group was significant higher than control group,the difference was statistically significant between the two groups(P<0.01).The NMSS scores decreasing was statistically significant in treatment group after treating(P<0.01);while the control group was insignificantly(P>0.05).Compared with the two groups of NMSS scores change after treating,there was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).②Compared with two groups of PDQ-39 scores after the treatment,the total clinical effective rate of PDQ-39 was 46.88%in treatment group and 10.00%in control group.The effective rate of PDQ-39 in treating group was significant higher than control group,the difference was statistically significant between the two groups(P<0.01).The PDQ-39 scores decreasing was statistically significant in treatment group after treating(P<0.01);while the control group was insignificantly(P>0.05).Compared with the two groups of PDQ-39 scores change after treating,there was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).③Compared with the Symptom severity distribution changes of NMSS in treatment group after treatment,the difference of the gastrointestinal symptoms and urination symptoms is statistically significant(P<0.05).④There was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)between the two groups of the UPDRS Ⅲ score,LDE and H-Y grading scale.⑤ Adverse reactions and safety analysis showed that there was no significant change about related monitoring indicators after treatment.Conclusion:① Yunshao Paan decoction can effectively improve the overall non-motor symptoms and the quality of life of PD patients,of which to improve the gastrointestinal symptoms and urinary conditions best.②There is no significant advantage by using Yunshao Paan decoction to treat the motor symptoms,the dose of levodopa and H-Y grading scale.③There is no adverse events by using Yunshao Paan decoction in the whole progress of treatment course,indicating that it is safety for clinical use.
