| ObjectiveTo treat The wind-cold obstruction type of Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy by Guizhi plus Gegen Decoction under the guidance of Qingyang Theory from "The Inner Canon of Huangdi".Objective to evaluate the effect of the treatment of neck and upper limb pain, neck stiffness, anxiety, and insomnia,in order to explore the guiding significance of TCM Qingyang theory in clinical diagnosis and treatment of Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy.MethodsAll cases of this study were derived from patients treated in the orthopedics department of Hubei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medical from September-2016 to September 2017.All the patients were asked for the detailed medical history, including main symptoms, associated symptoms, diet, sleep, urine and bowel movement, and the collected data was recorded with the four diagnostic methods of TCM.According to the diagnostic criteria, inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,105 patients with Wind-cold obstruction type of Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy were divided into the observation group of 53 cases and 52 cases in the control group. The observation group was treated with Guizhi plus Gegen Decoction modification according to the clinical symptom under the guidance of Qingyang Theory. The control group was treated with Jingtong Keli. The treatment cycle of the two groups were 4 weeks. The score of each index(neck and upper limb pain, neck stiffness, anxiety, and insomnia)were observed and recorded at three time points(before the treatment,2 weeks and 4 weeks after treatment).Follow up 3 months after the end of the treatment to understand the recurrence. The results of the study were analyzed and discussed with statistical methods.ResultsThe general situation and the symptom scores of the two groups before the treatment were statistically compared,P > 0.05,the difference was not obvious,so the baseline level was the same and comparable.Intragroup comparison of the situation that two groups of patients after treatment: VAS and ROM were examined 2 and 4 weeks after treatment,VAS scores were decreased, and cervical ROM score were increased,P < 0.05,which indicates that the two groups of treatment both can effectively relieve the pain and the neck activity limitations.Through the changes of the accompanied symptom,in observation group, the situation of 2 weeks after treatment and 4 weeks after treatment compared with before treatment,P < 0.05,the symptoms improved significantly;while in control group, after 2 weeks of treatment, there was no statistical difference(P > 0.05),after 4 weeks of treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).It shows that in relieving the anxiety and insomnia,Guizhi plus Gegent Decoction group works faster.Comparison among groups after treatment: there was a significant difference between the two groups after the treatment(P < 0.05),and the scores of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group. The overall efficiency and recurrence rate were compared: the total effective rate was 90.56%,and the total effective rate of the control group was 82.69%.The total effective rate of the two groups was compared with that of the P group < 0.05,the difference was statistically significant, and the curative effect in the observation group was better than that in the control group. There was 1 recurrence in the observation group and 5 in the control group. The two groups were compared,P < 0.05.The difference was statistically significant. The long-term effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group.ConclusionTreating The wind-cold obstruction type of Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy with Guizhi plus Gegen Decoction under the guidance of Qingyang Theory from "The Inner Canon of Huangdi",could relieve the main symptoms of neck and upper limb pain, neck stiffness, and also has good effect on improving the patients mood and sleep quality. It shows that the theory of Qingyang of traditional Chinese medicine has some advantages in the application of treatment of arthralgia, and it obviously improves patient’s health and life quality. |
