Objectives: To investigate the correlation between frailty with left ventricular diastolic dysfunction and N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursors, and to study the predictive value of N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursors in the diagnosis of frailty. Methods:Data was collected 60 patients from the Department of Cardiology and Geriatrics in first affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University during January to December 2017.N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursor and the main parameters of cardiac systolic and diastolic function were also recorded.Canadian Study of Health and Aging Clinical Frailty scale was used to evaluate the selected patients.According to the score, they were divided into two groups: frailty group(n =27)and non-frailty group(n = 33).T test and chi-square test were used to analyze and compare the statistical significance between the two groups general clinical data, laboratory indexes and cardiac color ultrasound indexes. The correlation between left ventricular diastolic dysfunction and N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursor was analyzed by Pearson and Sperman correlation analysis. The predictive value of N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursor in the diagnosis of frailty was evaluated by the operating curve of subjects.Furthermore, the correlation between frailty and left ventricular diastolic dysfunction and N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursor was analyzed by the method of logical regression. Results :The mean age、age group、hypertension、left ventricular diastolic dysfunction、 NT-proBNP level、total cholesterol level and left atrial enlargement in the frailty group were more than in the non-frailty group(p<0.05).The frailty score was positively correlated with hypertension、left atrial enlargement、systolic blood pressure 、NT-proBNP、 age、age group and left ventricular diastolic dysfunction grade(p < 0.05),and negatively correlated with total cholesterol level(p <0.05).NT-proBNP has predictive value in the diagnosis of frailty(AUC=0.786,P<0.05),The cut-off of NT-proBNP concentration is 127 ng/L(Sensitivity 82%,specificity 70%).The age 、 NT-proBNP and left ventricular diastolic dysfunction were also contributes to frailty(p<0.05).Conclusions:The scores of frailty were respectively positively correlated with age 、 left ventricular diastolic dysfunction grade and N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursor level.NT-proBNP had predictive value in the diagnosis of frailty. The age and left ventricular diastolic function,N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursor levels may be independent risk factors for frailty.
