Objectives:Event-related potentials(ERP)were used to investigate the characteristics of cognitive function and P300 characteristics in first-episode schizophrenics without medication(FES).To clarify the correlation between cognitive function and eventrelated potentials in first-episode schizophrenics, and objective to provide an objective and valuable basis for evaluating the cognitive function of schizophrenic patients by using neural electrophysiological tools and event-related potentials.Methods:1.To test 30 people with schizophrenia or schizophrenic psychotic disorders for the first time in DSM-IV or ICD-10,and those who had not taken antipsychotic drugs(the patient group)and the healthy control group(control group)by MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery.2.The EEG data were collected from 27 cases of the first untreated schizoph-renics and the healthy controls by using the 64 channel EEG.And using ASA software to analyze off-line data and extract event-related potential P300.Results:1.MCCB original comparison: There was no statistical difference between the first untreated group and the healthy control group except the MSCEIT score, but the difference between the other group and the healthy control group was significant(P<0.05).2.Comparison of MCCB’s cognitive functions: There were statistical differences between the two groups in the six psychological dimensions of information proces-sing speed, working memory, attention / alertness, visual learning, word learning, reasoning and problem solving(P < 0.05),and there was no significant difference between the two groups of social cognition(P > 0.05).3.Behavioral data: The response time of the first drug users was significantly prolonged(P < 0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups.4.Event related potential P300: The amplitude of Fz,Cz,C3 and C4 decreased significantly(P < 0.05),and the latency of C3 and C4 lead delay was statistically significant(P < 0.05).5.The correlation coefficient of P300 amplitude and information processing speed, working memory, social cognition and attention / alertness were 0.45,0.39,0.32 and 0.31 respectively, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusion:1.Cognitive dysfunction in the first untreated schizophrenic patients is mainly manifested in a wide range of cognitive dimensions, such as information processing speed, working memory, attention / alertness, visual learning, word learning, reasoning and problem solving..2.The P300 amplitude of the first onset schizophrenic patients decreased, latency latency.3.P300 can be used as a reliable electroencephalogram for schizophrenia patients with cognitive impairment and severity. It is helpful for clinical diagnosis and curative effect evaluation.
