Objective By PRECEDE-PROCEED Model to investigate the life and knowledge-attitude-behavior current situation of type 2 diabetes mellitus in high-risk individuals, and analyze the main health problems and influencing factors. The study introduced and enforced targeted health education plans and evaluated effectiveness, and ultimately improved the overall quality of life of the test participants. Methods The research is a kind of quasi-experimental in design, including two phases. The first phase is the baseline survey of 229 type 2 diabetes mellitus in high-risk individuals by questionnaires combined with interviews. The second phase is interventional study.Data was collected by questionnaires and physical measures.70 participants were selected from N ingxia Medical University General Hospital Diabetes C linic and Physical Examination Center. The y were divided into control group and test group, with 35 participants in each one.The control group used routine health education, and the test group adopted PREC EDE-PROCEED model health education. The collection of relevant data before the intervention,3 months and 6 months after intervention. All the data were processed and analyzed by SPSS22.0 statistical software,P?0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results1.The results of the baseline survey: the total knowledge-attitude-practice score of type 2 diabetes mellitus in high-risk individuals was(53.16±8.78).The knowledge score was the lowest, and there were many misunderstandings.2.The results of the intervention:2.1Before the intervention, there were no statistically significant differences in the general data, the scores of knowledge-attitude-practice,quality of life, and body mass index, waistline, blood pressure and blood glucose between the two groups(P>0.05).2.2The results of repeated measures analysis of variance: the scores of the knowledge-attitude-practice were significant difference between the time and groups, and there was interaction between time and group.Independent sample t test results showed that the test group scores of the knowledge-attitude-practice were higher than the control group after intervention, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.3After 6 months, quality of life of test group was higher than control group except for the bodily pain score, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.4After the intervention, the body mass index and systolic blood pressure of the test group were lower than control group(P<0.05).The other index were relatively stable.Conclusions1.Type 2 diabetes mellitus in high-risk individuals is at a lower level of total knowledge-attitude-practice scores. The knowledge has the lowest score and attitude and behavior are only at a medium level.2.The PREC EDE-PROCEED model health education has a good effect in correcting misunderstandings of type 2 diabetes mellitus in high-risk individuals, and effectively improving the level of quality of life, which will provide a reference for prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
