A Translation Project Report Of New Voices In Investment (Chapter Three)

This is a translation project report of New Voices in Investment(Chapter 3).The original text of the translation project, which was published on the official website of the World Bank in 2015, is a survey about the foreign investment situation of the companies from the new emerging economies. The original text of the translation project was extracted from this survey, and was co-written by some famous economists. The extracted chapter mainly presents the foreign direct investment situation of the four emerging economies,discusses the main drives and motivations of the foreign direct investors, summarizes the three dominant types of foreign direct investors, and analyzes the different factors that affect companies’ decision about investing abroad, and the importance of each factor for each company from different countries.The translation project consists of four parts; the first part is the introduction part, which includes background, objectives, and significance, etc. The second party is the introduction of the original text, which includes the authors’ profile,main contents, and language characteristics. The third part is the introduction of translation difficulties, such as: terminologies, complex sentences, and some other non-English difficulties, and corresponding translation methods, for example:semantic and communication translation, terminologies, and the methods and strategies to translate terminologies. The final part is the summary of enlightening,lessons and unsolved problems.
