The first chapter introduces the background of the translation project, the theoretical foundation of the translation project-the functional equivalence theory and significance of the translation project. The second chapter states content introduction of the source text, language style of the source text and the structure of the source text. The third chapter is an essential part of the translation practice report. In this chapter, combined with the specified examples from the translation, the translator illustrates three difficult points in the translation, respectively, are how to accurately translate petroleum science and technology terms; how to translate the passive voice; how to accurately translate long sentences, and also expounds the translation methods that applied in this translation project, which are amplification, omission, repetition, synchronization, reversion and division.
