As a new model, localization industry is becoming more and more important in the economic trade and cultural exchanges. Localization-oriented translation, as an indispensable part of localization industry, is gradually becoming the trend in the development of the translation service. Corresponding to the need of educational industry, the localization-oriented translation of International Students’ Guide serves both the well-known universities that hope to enroll more international students and the local students who hope to know more about the foreign universities. This report reviews the whole process of the translation of "2015 International Undergraduate Student Guide" of Austrian National University. Before the translation, parallel texts need to be read, CAT tools like Trados and file format converting software like ABBYY Finreader should be installed. Based on the source text, the corresponding principles and theories are chosen. In the main part of this report, the translator expounds on the translation techniques used in the translation of ANU’s Student Guide from the perspective of format, verbs, acronyms and annotations. The conclusion part points out some of the weak points and gives suggestions for improvement. It is hoped that this report might have some values for the future translation practice of similar genres.
