| In this paper, in the context of cultural exchange between China and Japan since modern times, through the historical investigation and comparative study of the concept of "art", the system elaborated the modern Chinese "art" concept and the origin of Japan.The overall is divided into three parts:The first part is the introduction, this part briefly introduced the thesis research object, research scope and research ideas.The second part is the main part of the paper. By the following four chapters:The first chapter from the perspective of etymology expounded with modern concept of "art" of the word "art" and "art" the word "art" in back together after a challenge to traditional art definition.
