Identical with pure literature, Legend of Zhen Huan has profound literariness in the aspects of ideological and artistic level. Based on this idea, this thesis intends to provide an investigation of its literariness.The author is skillful in observing historical events when creating Legend of Zhen Huan. She reconstructed the history by employing the strategy of “overhead”and achieved the harmony of free fabrication and psychic reality, and revealed the aggression of the feudal imperial power to human nature by depicting all kinds of the tragic fate of the characters in the court and expressed the sense of nihility in the context of "denying the original value" and "everything is empty"..Although the subject of The Legend of Zhen Huan is about the ancient times, the novel still attaches great importance to the modernness. With two controversial elements of “survival and love” and its projection to modern workplace struggle, The Legend of Zhen Huan revealed the existential anxiety of the contemporary people.With the plot of palace strife proceeds, the novel reflected the contemporary disorder of social and cultural mentality.Legend of Zhen Huan established distinctive consciousness of feminism by abandoning the "men observe/women being observed" point of view.
