The Study Of Human Physical Health Condition During Zhou And Qin Dynasty In Guanzhong Region

Guanzhong region is also called Guanzhong Plain, which is located in the middle of shaanxi, between Qinling Mountains and the mountains in the north of Weihe River.It’s geographical position is superior. Therefore it plays an important role in the development of history. As one of the main birthplaces of China.A large number of human bones were discovered in this region, which provides huge amount of data for us to study the physical conditions of human. Based on the bones which were excavated from the tombs of Zhou and Qin Dynasty, this paper will take the method of physical anthropology, demography and pathology to study the changes of people physical health conditions during that period. These changes will be analyzed according to the people’s death conditions at different ages, average expected life, their limb development level, body mass and diseases. At the same time, compared with the physical condition in other regions, this paper also refer to the level of people’s physical health conditions in Guanzhong region during that period from both horizontal and vertical angles. The study will show that Guanzhong people’s physical conditions have been gradually improved from Western Zhou to the Warring States and Qin. Besides, their physical conditions were above average. At last, we will analyze the reason why there are these changes from two aspects-natural and social environment.
