Artistic Research On Hu Jieqing

HuJieqing(1905-2001),the wife of Lao She,had received good education since childhood.She was once instructed by Chinese famous painters Wang Caibai(Wang Liqi),Yang Zhongzi,SunSongzhao.After the liberation of China,she officially worshiped QiBaishi as her master.And at the same time,she had accepted a good guide of Yu Feian.HuJieqing’s life was not only confined into the realm of painting,but wrote a lot of essays and memoirs in the decades after the death of Lao She.It is also worth noticing her friendship with some famous schalors.To be precise,it was the turning point for HuJieqing to communicate with QiBaishi and Yu Feian,which symbolized officially her entrance into the field of painting.In terms of her painting style,it has been deeply affected by QiBaishi and YuFeian in the aspects of freehand brushwork and fine brushwork.Generally speaking,her style in painting is rather traditional.Technologically speaking,she was better at painting pine,chrysanthemum,plum,especially chrysanthemum.Compared with the life of Hu Jieqing,there were few females who persisted to chase their goals in literature and painting.Actually,dating back to the early days,there were so many females who had a good understanding of literature and painting.It is sure that the above situation is the result of many social and personal conditions.In comparison,HuJieqing seized the current situation and made better use of her own resources to realize her goals in painting.And finally,she paved a refreshing way of painting.
