A Study Of Vocabulary Variation Of Gushi Dialect In Henan

Language is a social phenomenon which is varied by social changes.Language change has imbalance.Vocabularies change faster than phonetics and grammars.Chinese dialect vocabulary is significant content of linguistic researches in our country.However,there are only a few researches connected with vocabularies of social language from the perspective of social linguistics study.People are concerning the disappearance of numbers of original vocabularies since reform and openness of China.Yet,those current plentiful research achievements of dialect vocabulary remain to be in the static combing integration.Vanishing dialects aren't described in details and field investigations aren't substantial enough.The article is mainly based on the Gushi dialect vocabularies to confront it with social environment and make a thorough research to find out changes and current status of the said dialect vocabulary in recent decades by using the synchronic and diachronic research methods.Chapter One is introduction.It firstly explains the current research status of Chinese and Gushi dialect vocabuliaries,including its value significance.meanwhile,the chapter recommends overview of gushi which mainly describes its human geography and general summary of dialect.In Chapter Two,investigative procedures of the paper will be seen.It focuses on analysis of the chosen dialect vocabularies,research methods and the fundamental state of 128 testees.Chapter Three emphatically describes changes of Gushi dialect vocabularies by means of analyzing 135 distinctive dialect vocabularies.It concludes characteristics of “ongoing changes”.In Chapter Four,we analyze reasons of the said changes of dialect vocabularies by probing into language attitude,influence of mandarin and social factors.These two chapters make the prominent part of the research.The last part is conclusion.It points out the significance and influence of the research of Gushi dialect vocabularies change.What existing problem of Chinese dialect and common language is “popularization of mandarin” and “fading of dialects.” The two are not opposing and able to harmoniously develop.Then,should some referential recommendations be given to protect Gushi dialect vocabularies.In order to study ongoing change of the language variation by synchronic investigations,we hope that we are able to use the minority to bring along majority to find out the similarities of variation of current Chinese dialect vocabulary and uniqueness of the dialect cultural in China.It makes us form deeper understanding of current status of Chinese dialects and changes of rural culture.
