A Case Study On Wedding Customs Of Xiniang In Fuzhou

The wedding customs of Xiniang used to be called the chaperon in wedding ceremony,was a widely known customs in Fuzhou area.Now,customs of Xiniang is becoming a non-material cultural heritage in Fuzhou,and it’s also the important symbol of local culture.As an communication study, the thesis uses field surveys and other supporting research methods to do empirical study on the customs of Xiniang.On one side,the author discussed the meaning of metaphorical speech from the customs which through it’s symbols, contents and functions which was based on the theory of the ritual view of communication.From the other part, the author discussed how the customs changed enormously.According to the analyzes such as tools,mechanism of transmission and communicating effect which indicated that the media created the communication scene and changed the image of the traditional customs under the mass communication environment.Based on the research.the author puts forward that the traditional folk culture should pay more attention to the development of inheritance system from its media, the way of inheritance and the consciousness of inheritance.
