Mongolian-themed Mural Research And Creative Practice

With the reform and opening, the creation of Inner Mongolia contemporary murals have been influenced by the entire artistic mindset in China, so a number of regional Mongolian-themed works have appeared and started more rapid development. There are many cases of these works, but few of them have been recorded. In this paper, firstly, I collected, analyzed and summarized the cases of Contemporary Mongolian-themed murals.Secondly, taking the typical murals in the large-scale public places of Inner Mongolia as an example, I analyzed the artistic performance method and material technology of these murals. Finally, I summed up the theory of personal practice and exploration in Mongolian mural creation.This paper consists of four chapters. The Introduction elaborates the development of contemporary murals at home and abroad, also pointing out their research significance. In the first chapter, the ancient murals left by the northern nomadic people of Inner Mongolia area is traced including tomb murals, religious murals, and cave paintings. The second chapter and the third chapter are the focus of this paper. In the chapter two, the situation of the contemporary Mongolian-themed murals in Inner Mongolia is discussed,survey data of Mongolian-themed murals is presented. This paper selects typical Mongolian-themed murals, conducting the research from the perspective of artistic expression, aesthetic trends, technology and so on.The third chapter presents the author’s Mongolian elemental mural works.Pulling the practical process down from its theoretical heights, summarize my works from the perspective of their conception, design, techniques, and materials. The fourth chapter discusses the trend of Inner Mongolian murals in the future. As the development of science and technology, the emergence of new materials and techniques will continue to broaden the category of national mural materials and technology. The future is bright for Mongolian-themed murals.
