A Report On The C-E Translation Of Notes To Financial Statements Of Yan Tai Moon Co.,Ltd

As a practice report on Chinese to English translation,this report describes one translation task of Notes to Financial Statements of Yantai Moon Co.,Ltd,mainly analyzing the first half of Notes to discuss possible difficulties and problems as well as corresponding coping strategies and solutions.The report sketches pre-translation preparation and pre-translation analysis,aiming at emphasizing their importance in translating process.As the priority of this report,the case analysis details strategies for translating long sentences and attributives,summarizes the translation of passive voices with an agent and the translation of passive voices without an agent,and explains the reason why amplification and omission are used in the light of the translation strategies of informative texts.Through the description of pre-translation preparation and pre-translation analysis as well as case analysis,it is found that pre-translation preparation is indispensable for professional texts for it directly determines translation speed and quality.In addition,the pre-translation analysis of text types plays an important role in the choice of translation methods and the whole translating process.What’s more,it is necessary to have a good understanding of meaning and figure out the logic before translating long sentences and attributives.And when translating,different strategies can be adopted on the basis of accurate and full information and form words can be used to enhance the logic.One should be possessed with objective awareness when dealing with objective texts.For informative texts,proper amplification and omissionare necessary in the light of semantics.
