A Report On Liaison Interpreting At Yungang Grottoes In September 2016

With the rapid development of globalization and the deepening of international cultural exchanges,tourism in our country has developed rapidly and become one of the fastest growing industries in the recent years.More and more foreign tourists choose China as their travel destinations,so the demands for the quantity and quality of liaison interpreters become high.It requires interpreters not only to interpret and explain accurately,but also to have the skills of solving problems.The report is based on liaison interpreting at Yungang Grottoes.The author selects some typical cases during the liaison interpreting and analyzes some interpreting problems in the field of tourist attractions rich in art and religion during the interpreting process.Some tentative interpreting strategies and solutions to the related problems are proposed.This report consists of four chapters.Chapter One is the description of the interpreting task.In this chapter,the concrete information and the requirements of interpreting practice are introduced.Chapter Two describes the translation process.The author describes the interpreting practice from three aspects,namely preparation,process and summary.Chapter Three is the analysis of interpreting cases based on the guidance of Skopos Theory.The author classifies the problems encountered in the interpreting process.Through case analysis,the corresponding interpreting strategies are proposed.Chapter Four is the reflection of the interpreting practice and the prospects for future study and work.
