| This practice report is based on the author’s experience as an interpreter for a China-aid program.The agricultural technology training course has 44 participants from 11 developing countries involved.The author is responsible for the interpreting of their training classes,inspections,meetings and daily activities in China.This practice report divides into four parts.The first part makes a detailed description of the interpretation task,including background,content and nature;the second part summarizes the whole process,comprising preparation before interpretation,the specific process and evaluation after interpretation;the third part is the main part of the report.The case analysis raises questions,trying to improve the quality of translation and fixing the problems,and issues like cultural shock,terminology translation and accent barrier are included;the fourth part is the analysis and summary.Based on the interpretation process,the author elaborates the difficulties and the remaining problems during this practice.In addition,the author also shares her own perception of interpreter’s role and the quality an interpreter should boast. |
