Word class labeling(WCL for short)of analytic languages like Chinese and French is a knotty problem.Word class labeling in Chinese-Foreign Dictionaries is also a tricky problem. On the study of WCL in Chinese or Chinese-Foreign Dictionaries, there are few studies concerning “X ? ” disyllabic lexemes which mainly focus on the lexemes themselves.Besides, few studies have been made on word class labeling of “X ?” disyllabic lexemes in Chinese-French dictionaries.Grand Dictionnaire Chinois-Fran?ais Contemporain is a dictionary complied for both Chinese learners and French learners. It is a native-oriented and foreign-oriented dictionary. This paper will adopt the Two-level Word Class Categorization Theory as its theory basis and take “X ? ” disyllabic lexemes of Grand Dictionnaire Chinois-Fran?ais Contemporain as its object.Through studying the word class labeling statuses of these lexemes and that of in Contemporary Chinese Dictionary(5,6th edition)(CCD5,6 for short)and in Modern Chinese Standard Dictionary(1,2,3th editon)(MCSD1,2,3 for short)and full-sample investigation of usage pattern in corpus and analysis of the statistic result, the proper word class labeling will be confirmed.By the study, the following conclusions can be drawn: there exist problems in the word class labeling of “X ?” lexemes.Based on Two-level Word Class Categorization Theory in Analytic languages,we hold that word class categorization exists both in syntax at parole and lexion at langue, the judgment of word classes should based on the practical usage patterns of “X ?” in corpus, but not on the basis of Chinese dictionaries. This thesis can not only provide guidance for word class labeling in Chinese-Foreign language dictionaries, but also shed new light upon word classes in modern Chinese.
