A Simulated E-C Consecutive Interpreting Report On Digital Economy Dialogues During 2016 World Economic Forum Based On Cohesion Skills

This report is based on a simulated English-Chinese(E-C)consecutive interpreting(CI)of two dialogues on digital economy,with the analysis focusing on cohesion skills.The report consists of four chapters,which are task description,task preparation,case study and conclusion,respectively.On one hand,World Economic Forum is one of the most influential economic forums.Also,digital economy is the leading trend in the fourth industrial revolution.So it is practical to introduce the updated development of digital economy into the domestic.On the other hand,coherence is a critical criterion in judging the interpreting quality.And cohesion skills are definitely important in enhancing coherence in E-C Cl.This report will discuss two most frequently used cohesion skills,namely reference cohesion and conjunction cohesion in the case studies.The report mainly discusses the interpreting skills and strategies in E-C CI from cohesion perspective.Qualified interpreters should be sensitive to popular English cohesion devices and understand how to transfer them into the corresponding Chinese interpreting.Hopefully,the fellow interpreters can learn from this report and further enhance their interpreting quality.
