Study On The Revision Of Couple Satisfaction Index And Its Application

Constructing and maintaining a good and stable intimate relationship is one of the tasks human being must finish after growing up.Therefore,the assessment and test for intimate relationship quality is crucial.This thesis is aimed at revising the Couple Satisfaction Index.The procedures consist of two parts which are scale translating and scale administering.Scale translating is a continuous cycle which includes initially translating,back translating from experts,and checking and revising.Scale administering includes interviewing,first-time administering,second-time administering,and formally administering.It turns out that its internal consistency reliability is 0.959,and test-retest reliability is 0.649.It has good content validity but relatively lower construct validity.Apart from some non correlative items,all the correlation coefficients among them are between 0.106 and 0.807.And the criterion-related validity is-0.643.The CSI consists of 32 items which should be administered by the means of combined skills of likert scale with 5 points and 6 points,and semantic differential scale.Finally,its application analysis is conducted,and T score norm of the revised scale are computed,which consists of college students norm in Tianjin and staff norm across country.Finally,it’s been proven that the revised CSI is of well psychometric criterion such as reliability and validity,and it can be applied in further research.
