| With the elevation of human rights awareness and the gradual perfection of human rights systems and bodies,the realization of basic human rights which declared by Universal Declaration of Human Rights is developed not only broadly but also in depth.Realizing the human rights to water and sanitation is exactly the embodiment of realizing human rights in depth.The source text of this report is chosen from Realising the Human Rights to Water and Sanitation: A Handbook(Booklet Two),which is a human right handbook released by United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner.This report analyzes the text typology of this source text which is an informative and operative expository text,and summarizes the translation strategies for based on the skopos theory and the author’s translation practice,hoping to examine my knowledge and practice during the study and to make a little contribution to realize the human right to water and sanitation in China.This report is divided into four parts: the first part is a brief description of the translation task including the introduction and analysis of the source text,and the significance and objective of the task.The second part elaborates the process of the translation.The third part introduces the translation theory applied in the translation task and explores how the theory was employed to the translation practice in terms of its four principles.The last part is the conclusion of the translation practice and the report. |
