A Study On The Texture-timbre Of Strawinsky’s PETROUCHKA

The one of Igor Fidlovich Strawinsky as the 20th century’s most influential composer,is not only a large number of his works and style changing.In his writing career,reflects the different characteristics of each period of the music of the 20th Century revolution.The ballet PETRUSHKA is one of Stravinsky’s early three ballets and his personal style gradually forming,the music tends to mature works.Seeking hard,grotesque,funny sound level and vertical polyphonic texture tone is an important feature of this works.This dissertation will base on the angle of the orchestraion,for PETRUSHKA timbre contrast and instruments layout is analyzed and explored.This paper consists of two parts.The first part isa brief of the composer’s life,different periods of his music composition,and the creation background and characteristics of PETRUSHKA.Allowing the reader have a general understanding of Stravinsky and the ballet PETRUSHKA.The second part is the focus of this article,the content is as follows.· the instrumentation and the characteristics of the resource accoutics.· the timbre processing in vertical structure.· the timbre expand in horizontal structure.· the orchestration layout of the overall structure.Finally,the timbre of the work of texture structure to make some general summary.
