| In order to adapt to the trend of economic globalization,many regions of China seize opportunities and seek international cooperation by publishing their own investment-inviting materials,such as guideline or booklet,to attract foreign investment.The translation of these materials plays a key role in helping foreign investors learn the local investment policy and investment projects.Moreover,the quality of translation has a great impact on the publicity of the local investment policy to some extent.Therefore,it is important to improve the quality of the translation on these materials.Investment-inviting text is a typical informative text.It has unique characteristics and its translation has long been a focus in the discussion on the selection of translation strategies.Therefore,the author chose a typical text to discuss the selection of translation strategies.The author took Reiss’Text Typology as guideline and described the process of translation,text analysis,and pre-translation preparation.Meanwhile,the author discussed the translation strategies applied in the investment-inviting text,including the translation of expressions with Chinese characteristics and the translation of long sentences.According to Text Typology,the text can be classified as informative text.The author adopted proper translation strategies according to the function of the text type.The report concludes specific translation strategies of investment-inviting text.Translation strategies such as omission,amplification,free translation,conversion,division and reorganizing information were adopted in the translation.Hopefully,it can be a referential materials for similar translation in the future. |
