A Report On The Translation Of Agricultural Innovation Systems:a Framework For Analysing The Role Of The Government (Chapter Four And Chapter Five)

The translating project is derived from Agricultural Innovation Systems: A Framework for Analysing the Role of the Government,which is an economic report republished by Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development(OECD).The translator translates the Forth Chapter and the Fifth Chapter into Chinese.As an informative text,the original text introduces agricultural policies and innovation,practices in other countries and provides pieces of advice.The purpose of translation is to deliver information of the report to related policy-makers and agricultural economists to play the role of government better and further develop Agricultural Innovation Systems(AIS).The translation is under the guidance of Skopos Theory and its rules.By translating,the translator has demonstrated difficult points and translation methods.And then,the translator has made some reflection.The translator should consider the usage and meaning of common basic words in the source text carefully in terms of context to deliver the information more correctly and more appropriately.This report is divided into four parts.The first part mainly introduces the source of the translating project,features of the text as well as difficult points and significance of the translation.The second part describes the process of translation,including preparation,translation and correction.The third part is a case study on translation methods of informative text under the guidance of Skopos Theory.Considering different English-Chinese correspondences on lexical and syntactical structure,varied translation methods should be applied to translation,such as conversion,amplification,omission,combination,division and so on.The last part is a summary which includes author’s ideas and expectation.The translator expects that this report could help other translators to translate texts related to agriculture for the future.
