| This thesis is an analytical report on conference consecutive interpreting practice.Focusing on interpreting process research, the Interpretive Theory takes “deverbalization” as the core. This theory can be explained into three basic principles of interpretive translation: to comprehend the meaning of words from the discourse perspective;to reorganize information by deverbalization;and to reformulate for communicative effects.Under the guidance of these principles, several strategies were applied for conference consecutive interpreting practice, including methods of expliciting metaphors, cognitive complementing, processing logic, extracting theme, reconstructing, simplifying and additional explanation. It is worthwhile to note that interpreting strategies discussed in this thesis are all based on discourse interpreting, which is due to characteristics of conference consecutive interpreting--immediacy and verbal-communication. |
