A Research On Marcuse’s Theory Of Alienation

Since Marx put forward the concept of "alienation",which has always been the focus of scholars at home and abroad.Labor alienation is the core of Marx’s theory of alienation,criticizing the capitalist system.The Frankfurt school represented by Marcuse criticized dissimilation phenomenon in capitalism from abstract philosophical category to social reality.Absorbing labor alienation theory,Marcuse focuses on comprehensive critique of capitalism dissimilation phenomenon.In nature,alienation theory of Marcuse is a kind of humanistic criticism which is different from critique of political economy.In content,Marcuse’s theory of alienation concluded alienation of consumption,alienation of science and technology and alienation of human nature.Marcuse criticized unreasonable consumption in a false demand and commercial encouragement.Science and technology become a kind of ideology,beating the protests of the whole society and leading to the alienation of essence of human,becoming one-sided development of people eventually.In generally,Marcuse’s theory of alienation stressed a kind of general alienation.Marcuse’s alienation is a kind of overall alienation which is different from Marx’s alienation of labor.This paper aims to find the significance and value of guiding reality through in-depth analysis of Marcuse’s theory of alienation and the comparison to Marx’s alienation theory.This paper consists of introduction and four chapters.The introduction is the basis of the full text,making preparation from the research purpose and meaning,domestic and foreign literature review and research ideas and methods.The first chapter introduces origin and background of the theory of alienation of Marcuse.The second chapter focuses on content interpretation of theory of alienation of Marcuse introducing performance,root and consequence from consumption alienation,alienation of science and technology.The third chapter is mainly about the comparison of both connection and difference theories of Marx’s alienation and Marcuse.On this basis,the fourth chapter is to found that the theoretical and practical value of human society development from study of Marcuse alienation theory.
