The Use Of “Harmoniousness” Idea In Traditional Chinese Culture To Animation Design

As the humanistic spirit generally accepted and identified by traditional Chinese thought and culture,and the leading spirit of Chinese aesthetics,the “harmoniousness” idea has been influencing the creation of Chinese artists from ancient times to contemporary era.That is to say,the integrity,dialectics and organicity of “harmoniousness” idea can be applied to various types of artistic creations in different eras.Meanwhile,animation design also plays increasingly important role as an important part of modern design.By reasonably applying the concept of Chinese traditional aesthetics to animation design can enable animation to inherit and carry forward the value as well as essence in traditional culture so as to improve people’s cognition as well as aesthetics of traditional culture.In addition,it also is an exploration of realizing nationalization of Chinese animation.On this premise,to research the application of “harmoniousness” idea to animation creation is particularly significant.This paper researches the use of “harmoniousness” idea in traditional Chinese culture to animation design;according to the practice guided by analysis and research theory,it combines the concept of Chinese traditional aesthetics with Chinese style animation so as to create original animation work 《A Dream of Huai’an》,which manifests the application of “harmoniousness” idea in this practical achievement.Firstly,this paper elaborates research background and significance,and analyzes domestic as well as foreign research status;on that basis,it further puts forward research objective,content,and method.Secondly,it analyzes traditional Chinese aesthetics and Chinese “harmoniousness” culture,introduces its significance and function in modern design,and provides theoretical reference for practical creation.Started with Chinese painting,this paper analyzes the utilization of traditional Chinese painting in this concept,and describes its inheritance and revolution in Chinese animation.Later,taking the two representative animation works applying “harmoniousness” idea as examples,including Feelings of Mountains and Waters and Mu Di,it implements thorough research and analysis on character images,lens language,ideological implication,and sound effect arrangement,which are used to guide creation practice.At last,it presents the creation process of original animation work 《A Dream of Huai’an》,analyzes the specific application of “harmoniousness” idea to drawing technique,theme,model design and lens language.The practice results show that,as the essence of traditional Chinese aesthetic thought,“harmoniousness” plays important guiding role in animation creation,which is the indispensible support for realizing nationalization of Chinese animation.
