Mental illness stigma refers to negative evaluation,negative emotional experience and discrimination of patients with mental illness.The existence of mental illness stigma is harmful to the process of psychological rehabilitation of patients,with mental illness,it is a high risk factor in the process of psychological rehabilitation.Reviewing the human understanding of mental illness can be seen,social,cultural and historical factors are restricting people’s evaluation and attitude of mental illness.China is a multinational country,different nationalities have their own culture.In the past,the study of stigma on mental illness did not pay attention to the impact of national culture on the stigma of mental illness.From a different cultural background,to study the mental illness stigma of Miao and Han college is a new research entry point.Therefore,this study intends to compare the phenomenon of mental illness stigma among Miao and Han students from implicit and explicit levels.This study included two sub-studies,the first study explore the explict mental illness stigma of Miao and Han college students and compare the difference.However,many studies have found that mental illness stigma in the implicit and explicit levels have different performance.Therefore,the second study explore the implicit mental illness stigma of Miao and Han students.The SC-IAT test was used to investigate the implicit mental illness stigma of Miao and Han students and compare the difference.Finally,from the cognitive evaluation,emotional experience,behavioral tendencies three aspects,to analysis the relationship of explicit and implicit mental illness stigma of Miao and Han college students.In summary,we can have the following conclusions:1.In explicit level,Miao subjects has higher scores on the discrimination behavior and the fear negative emotions,but,there was no significant difference between the angry negative stereotypes and negative emotions.2.In implicit level,There were significant differences in discrimination and negative emotions between the two groups,Miao subjects were tested higher on the emotional and behavior than Han students,However,there was no significant difference on cognitive evaluation.3.There were significant positive correlations between implicit behavioral responses and cognitive evaluation and explicit cognition,emotion and behavior of Miao students,there is a significant positive correlation between implicit emotional response and explicit behavior;There were significant positive correlations between implicit behavioral response and explicit emotion,cognition and behavior of Han college students,but there is no significant correlation between the implicit cognition and the three components of explicit stigma.
