| Cognitive linguistic is dedicate to the research on the cognitive laws of human language.It considers metonymy and metaphor a kind of cognitive style with abundant thought laws rather than a simple rhetoric of a language,reflects the strange target with existing experience and learned knowledge to express concept.The cognitive style of human being is carried forward gradually from lower level to higher.As a basic and necessary human organ,hand is taken as a learned experience for reflection during the cognitive process of external world.During Uighur-Chines translation of novelette?Stories from Letters?,written by Abudurousuli.Syiti,it is found that there are various expressions about “(?)”(hand).Hence,with metonymy and metaphor of cognitive as basic theory,this paper analyzes the cognitive rule and category of metonymy and metaphor in Uighur regarding“(?)”(hands),explores further the Uighur-Chinese translation methods of the two in the view of cognitive linguistic,regarding the examples in ?Stories from Letters?as main source and starting from the relative expressions of hands in Uighur. |
