The oral communication has experienced a long and complex evolution with the development of media.In the era of traditional electronic media and new media network being so prevalent,various kinds of programs are raging like a storm on the screen.Compared with the old orginal oral culture,the secondary oral culture produced by the current electronic age has not only changed the relationaship between disseminator and receiver in the dissemination process,but also overthrew the traditional communication pattern and content production model,which has deeply affected the thinking patterns in the changing of human beings.From the perspective of media ecology and cognitive theory and based on the primary concept of “original oral language” and “secondary oral language” put forward by Ong Walter,the paper aims to analyze the embodiment of the oral language in the electronic period.Firstly,the paper explores the origin of the production of oral language culture and its causes and characteristics of contemporary development.With the help of the research upon the origin of colloquial language,the paper takes “Homer ’s Epic” as the representative of the case that embodies the culture of ancient original oral language culture,and makes a comparison between the original oral language cult ure researched by Ong Walter and various kinds of cultures generated in the secondary oral language era.Through summarizing,comparing and bring forth the new idea from the old ones,the paper further figures out the internal commonness and linguistic variation in the ancient times and electronic times.From the perspective of cognition,the introduction part of this paper first clarifies the definition of the "oral culture",and then takes the "Homer ’s epic" as the origin of language technology,studies on the origin and development of original speaking culture,which further discusses the relationship among dictation,reading and writing and human thinking in the history of media development.The second part,the paper generalizes internal homoplasies embodied in the dissemination characteristics as well as oral expressions and oral forms of communication with oral cultures of two different periods.Besides,the paper also makes a concrete comparison between the original and secondary oral language culture,which are discussed separately from the different features of scale of groups,technology source and participation model,tendency of psychological cognition and social ideology.At last,under the background of the post modern context of oral communication,the paper combs the symbolic,recreational and reconfigurable characteristics of the formulistic expression in deconstruction combining with case analysis of the formulistic expressions..As reference to the research system of oral inheritance,the paper expounds the history of the electronic age oral culture.With combination of the similarities and differences between primary and secondary oral culture,the author finds that parts of traditonal characteristics in the original oral language culture have also been maintained and succeeded in the present social groups who are staying in the electronic age.On this basis,the development and innovation of cyber formulistic expression is discussed,and it is hoped to bring more profo und enlightenment for people to explore the communication and development of the secondary oral language culture.
