Infertility has become a major medical and social problem all over the world.Infertile women are usually associated with anxiety and mood disorder,and the persistent anxiety state will inverse effect the infertility.Music therapy has the effect of relieving bad emotions.The present study aimed to determine whether music therapy has the effect on anxiety state in infertile women.40 participants with infertility were recruited in this study from the first affiliated hospital of Chongqing medical university.Participants were randomly divided into two groups.Face to face interview was used to collect the sociodemographic information,Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)was used to evaluate the sleep quality,Zung Self-Assessment Anxiety Scale(SAS)was used to evaluate the anxiety state,Blood pressure,heart rate and cortisol levels were measured as well.According to the characteristic of each patient,different music was chosen as an intervention for 20-30 min,2-3 times per week,last 4 weeks.There is no significant difference in age,education level,infertility years and BMI between two groups(P>0.05).Music therapy group showed a significant improvement in sleep quality,reducing anxiety state,ameliorating blood pressure,heart rate,and reducing the blood cortisol levels(P<0.05).Music therapy has a good effect in reducing the anxiety state and insomnia in infertile women.
