| Conducting financial transactions,a normality in modern society,is crucial to workplace freshmen.Millenials with increasing economic pressure should treasure the good opportunity provided by globalization of economy.Thus,translators,acting as a bridge between international exchanges,are obliged to keep in touch with the newest ideas and first-hand messages,convey them to the general readers in time,and provide the public with proper approaches to the forefront of the world.In this regard,I selected the book Millennial Money: How Young Investors Can Build A Fortune,written by Patrick O’Shaughnessy,an American investor and author.In this book,Patrick finds that wealth favors the young,but most of them are deficient in developing a sense of making investments.Millennial Money is a popular financial book.It puts up a variety of argument methods such as facts,data,logical reasoning,history of stocks and personal experiences,shares some secrets and raises unique suggestions on accelerating capitals with millennial investors.During the practice,the translator shows great interest in its various and unique modes of argumentation,and emphasizes greatly on the translation of the book title,subtitles,terms,and textual features,trying to realize a natural,smooth,accessible and interesting TT.In this task,the writer firstly reads the ST of Millennial Money from beginning to end and some parallel texts.Then,the writer translates the selected texts and sends the draft versions to her partners and supervisor for improvement of translation.Finally,she writes this report based on text features of ST and experience of the translation practice.During the translation practice,the translator follows the strategy of functional equivalence and the principle of faithfulness,trying to reach an equivalence of informative,operative and aesthetic functions between SL and TL and reproduce texts features of entertainment,popularity and normativity in TL. |
