Report On The Translation Of The Specialized Plan For Informationization Of China’s 12^th Five-year Development Plan For Tourism

With the improvement of international status and overall strength,the part that China is playing now is becoming more and more significant in the globe.Under such circumstances,it is vital that we should actively spread Chinese culture and increase our soft power.The author chose the Specialized Plan for Informationization of China’s 12 th Five-Year Development Plan for Tourism(hereafter referred to as the Specialized Plan)as translating material and takes functional equivalence of Eugene A.Nida as guidance,with the aim of realizing as much equivalence as possible.Functional equivalence is a theory advanced by Eugene A.Nida.It has been providing a significant guidance for translation practice around the world.The author believes that this theory helps break the restriction from original language and promote more flexible transformation between different languages,so as to attain the goal of conveying the meaning.The Specialized Plan is published by China National Tourism Administration.It belongs to a type of political texts and is very critical for developing the tourism economy.The paper has summarized common linguistic phenomena and difficulties,and provided a deep analysis for typical cases at lexical and syntactic level.
