The Dong is a basic social organization that existed in the Li nationality area of Hainan.It played a very important role in the development of Li nationality society.Since modern times,considerable attention of the government has been focused on the developemnt of Hainan.At that time,the political,economic,social and cultural aspects of Hainan island have undergone profound changes.The Li people living on hainan island have also undergone profound changes from within.The present study mainly explored the modem of Li-Dong from the point of view of social change.In the first place,this study introduced the basic situation of Li-Dong,including the development of Li-Dong,the division of the boundaries of Li-Dong and the basic structure of Li-Dong.Li-Dong had experienced the process of origin,disappearance,reappearance,and disappearance again.In the long history of changes,Li people contacted external culture gradually that change their backward societies from learning and to use foreign culture knowledge.Li-Dong’s social organization similar the clan.It including standard,head,property,pedigree of a clan and so on.In the second place,the paper introduced Li-Dong the changing structure of the organization.Li-Dong is the basic social organization.Since modern times,under the influence of the central government’s portal structure changed a lot,which influenced Li people’s life.Late Qing dynasty,Feng Zicai set Li bureau,the government of the republic of China implemented the bao-jia system,the various factions in Li-Dong during the Anti-Japanese War,the early founding of the People’s Republic of China,Li-Dong was canceled as a basic administrative unit.In the third place,the modern Li-Dong changes of social life were introduced.Since modern times,due to external factors,to accelerate the process of Chinesization.In this context,All aspects of Li-Dong’s social life were changed.Li people’s material life became rich,spiritual life was changed and the economic life have improved significantly.In modern,Li-Dong change of social life prompted the national consciousness enhancement and promotedLi nationality modernization of social life.In the fourth place,the paper discusses the social relations of modern Li-Dong.Since modern times,the central government control of the Li-Dong has been strengthened ever since.There are relationships including conflicts and fusion between Dong and the Han nationality,as well as between Dong and Hemu.
