Study On Li Fang

Li Fang,the word Mingyuan,who lived in Raoyang,deep state(Raoyang,Hebei Province now).He was born in Houtang Tongguang years(925),died in Taizong Zhidao years(996),and he was the prime minister at Taizong period of Northern Song Dynasty.Li Fang experienced Houtang,Houjin,Houhan,Houzhou and the Northern Song Dynasty,and he worked in the Imperial Academy for four times,worked as the prime minister for twice.The age of his life was a complicated period of transition from the era of war to peace.Zhoushizong had the recognition and appreciation to Li Fang,and Songtaizong was the Bole of Li Fang.Songtaizong ruling period is not only his important period of step by step,but also is the period that let Li Fang give full play to his political and cultural abilities.Li Fang was admired by Songtaizong,and he took charge of prime minister in Taipingxingguo years(983)and Chunhua years(991).Li Fang was a kind,generous and lenient man,meanwhile he was also respectful and introverted.These excellent characters created Li Fang's stable career,and it is also crucial for Li Fang to have a seat in bureaucracy of the Northern Song.Because Li Fang was born in the era of war,so it has had a major impact for his future,for his human life,and for his official style.Li Fang worked in the court as a civilian for a long time,which made his literary attainment more profound,and literature more prominent.Therefore,Li Fang was appreciated by Songtaizong.Li Fang was presided over three large books of the "Tai Ping Yu Lan","Tai Ping Guang Ji" and "Wen Yuan Ying Hua",whose books provide a rich Historical records for posterity to research some relevant knowledge of the Song Dynasty and the preceding dynasty.Li Fang made some historical monographs,and twenty eight articles came from "Quan Song Wen",which can also be understood from the background of the times and Li Fang's mental state.A few like-minded friends donated poetry to empress their emotions was his favorite.It was lucky for Li Fang to meet Li Zhi in his 60 s,and Li Fang was honored for their both singing poetry,which can be seen from the "two Li singing anthology".
