With the development of English education reforming,EET as an absolutely new educational philosophy attracts the attention of foreign language education circles more and more largely,especially the higher education schools.With the guidance of theories of constructivism and experiential learning,the author set forth the problems of EET application lying in Vocational College English education from such a microscopic perspective of Experiential English Teaching by hackling,analyzing and studying the previous researches and combining actual teaching experience in a Vocational College and attempted to further explore how to improve Vocational College English education to excite students’ subjective initiative of learning,so as to increase efficiency of English learning as much as possible.By taking 80 students from Guangxi Eco-engineering Vocational and Technical Collage as a sample,this study tries to discuss two questions:(1)what is the current situation of EET?(2)What is the main reflection of students to EET and what are the exiting problems?And(3)what are the causes causing the problems?The methods used for the present study are questionnaire,interview and classroom observation.The results of survey are as follows:Firstly,EET will help students re-understand English learning with supplying many opportunities for them to interact and experience,while the result is not obvious,which is caused mainly by teachers’ formalized teaching,and their unscientific course’s design and perfunctory phenomenon.Secondly,EET can make classroom atmosphere changed,but the students’participation,positivity and initiative are not as what expected because the experiential parts are designed unreasonably and unscientifically which cannot excite students’participating interest too much.Thirdly,generally speaking,most students agree with the EET and hope further improvement can be made on teaching efficiency.The suggestions proposed according to the survey results are:firstly,teachers shall understand and grasp the core philosophy of EET and further improve their teaching quality;secondly,teachers shall design experiencing activities according to students’characteristics,demand of learning and teaching target and emphasize the process of teaching to improve learning efficiency through inspiring students’ enthusiasm ofparticipation;thirdly,the learning evaluation mechanism should be improved,teachers should further emphasize the development of students’ ability of learning and pay more attention to students’ performance in class;they should not only concern about students’scores and grades;fourthly,outside-practices should be further strengthened and chances of experiencing should be further expanded so that students can improve their English through practical activities;fifthly,the support for EET should be strengthened by supplying necessary teaching facilities.
