On Research Of Copying Ni Zan’s Landscape Painting My Perception In Creation

To learn landscape painting,we must first study tradition and learn from sages.We should seriously study the quintessence of ancient sages’ works and learn from nature.The integration of learning accumulation and personal life experience sets a stage for the creation of works of a spirit of the times and the painter’s personality.My mentor did not set a fixed range of choices or orientations for me to learn landscape painting.Instead,he encouraged me to “follow my heart” to choose my favorite artist or style of painting so as to stimulate my interest in learning and to achieve a multiplier effect.So,I chose the works of Nizan to start my landscape painting learning.Through the study of Nizan’s life,the style of his works,the characteristics of his painting and the composition features,I have developed an insight into the art form,artistic language,artistic expression etc.of China landscape painting.What’s more,I come to understand that copying research is a very important way to master the spirit of ancient Chinese painting.My painting involvement in the copying process enhances my understanding of landscape painting and ancient sages.On this basis,landscape paintings are created integrating my life experience and life perception.This article is a summary of my study and research in copying and creating landscape paintings,combined with my own practical experience.
